SportsTap NCAA Basketball Tournment Edition is, for a free app, about as good as we can imagine. It gives you up to the minute scoring updates on all your games (they even started it before the Big Dance began, covering all the happenings with the Top 25 and all the games in the conference tournaments) as well as predictions, spreads and lines. But it doesn’t even stop there, by selecting any upcoming matchup, you can get all the information about the two teams and how they should fare against each other. For a college sports fan, life doesn’t get much better, especially during tournament time. We liked it because, especially after Selection Sunday when we knew what the field was going to look like, we could find background information on any of the top teams and how they looked in their first matchup. From there, it made it really easy to complete a full bracket and we didn’t have rely on putting our alma mater in wherever we saw a gap.

Tournament Edition also features up to the minute scoring updates, so if you’re somewhere with a WiFi connection and no TV, then you can still follow your team all the way to the top. When we started using this app, during conference tournament time, we got sucked in reading up on our favorite teams and finding out more about the competition. As our teams moved on, it only got better. This app makes the entire March Madness experience something you can really immerse yourself in.
