App Aims: Mad March Mayhem

The iHoops app for the iPhone from AgencyWeb, brings the action of the March Madness Tournament to your palm. We liked the iHoops app because it just looked nice. The graphics were bright and well-designed and the interface was easy to navigate and use. We really liked the fact that you can go back in and change who you’ve picked and update your bracket with your (ahem) newer and better brackets. So maybe a team is doing worse or better than you expected? Just go on in and fix a few things and you’ll be good to go.

However, we were frustrated we could never see our entire bracket on the iPhone screen. Sure it was easy to scroll through all the different games, but when you’re going over the whole bracket, you want to see which teams will go where. It was also difficult to select who was going to win. Far too often when I would try to select the winner of the game, it would take me to another screen giving game time information. I got tired of going to that screen pretty fast. Other than those little quirks, we enjoyed using iHoops and really liked that you can continue to use it ever after the tournament has started.
