App Aims: Portable Pianoforte Accompaniment
Reviewer’s Comments
There isn’t a lot to say about MiniPiano since it’s a very simple app. It is just eight white and six black keys of a piano keyboard, starting with middle C on the left. The sound quality is good and the keys provide visual feedback when played. You can also play simple chords and use this app to tune a guitar.
There are some drawbacks. Keys are small and you may unintentionally hit more than one at a time, but with a bit of practice it’s manageable. There are certainly many ways this app could be improved, but for something that’s simple and free, you really can’t complain too much.
Peck out a simple tune using one octave of piano keys, the occasional need to pitch a song or just demonstrate the musical abilities of the iPhone without buying a more sophisticated app. Other than that, there’s likely not much use for MiniPiano. If you want to mess around with a simple piano without spending money, then this is the app for you.
