App Aims: Providing the Soundtrack for Romance

Carry a special playlist of romantic songs with you wherever you go. nuTsie’s Love Songs—100 Greatest of All Time streams the songs and will set the mood for a tender rendezvous. The featured songs range from the heartfelt “At Last” by Etta James or “Fly Me To The Moon” by Frank Sinatra to more contemporary tunes like “Iris” by The Goo Goo Dolls or “Thank You” by Dido. It also covers a variety of genres from soft rock to pop to country to alternative. The song list only plays in shuffle mode which leaves the mood to serendipity but plug the iPhone into a speaker dock and the app will color your evening with a lyrical refrain. You can even buy a particularly memorable song from iTunes directly from the app to help you remember a very special evening.

The title of the app is a bit misleading. As far as we could tell, there’s only 98 songs not 100. Since the music is streaming, you’ll definitely want at least a 3G connection with your iPhone but even better (and it’s required for the iPod touch) is using WiFi. We listened to the songs over both types of connections and had no problems with quality or consistency. With the 3G connection, there was just a longer pause between tracks. On the whole, this is a great app to have on your device. It saves you the cost of purchasing all of the tracks but if you do find one you want to own, it’s easy to purchase it from within the app itself.
