We were surprised with this one. It was much more amusing than we imagined and it contains useful information. Vision offers four eyes tests, and Ishihara Color Vision, Astigmatism, Retinal Function and Visual Field Tests. The Info & Help section offers information on eye First Aid, vitamins, eye illnesses and more. The app also includes some challenging eye exercises that to stimulate blood flow to the eyes or to relax your eyes.

The fun part of the app is the optical illusions and stereograms. It has many optical illusions including some pretty well known ones like various line and pattern illusions. In addition, Vision has a variety of stereograms including standard, animated and stereo pairs. The stereograms are all high quality images and look crisp and clean on the iPhone and iPod touch screen.

One of the things we didn’t like about this app is the eye illness descriptions; though they’re useful they don’t contain common language and are hard to understand if you don’t have a background in medical terms. We also thought the First Aid section could have included more information.

Vision contains a wide variety of useful information and high-quality graphics. We found the eye exercises challenging and the stereograms and optical illusions mesmerizing. We also liked the idea that this app can bring eye illness awareness to people, since vision is often something that deteriorates slowly over time and may not be noticed. We’d like to see more First Aid information and more easily understandable eye illness descriptions.
