App Aims: Transporting You To A Soothing Paradise

The whole point of Paradise is to provide stress relief. It may seem silly at first, you click on one and you see some grass and a poppy flower moving around and you hear a few bugs…but after a while you’re drawn in and actually starting feeling more peaceful.

Paradise has five destinations including a secret island, flowery meadow, calm sea, mountain stream or Yellowstone hot spring. The secret island has wave sounds and a cliff view; the meadow is just that—grass and flowers; the calm sea includes the sound of gently lapping water; the mountain stream offers vigorous yet refreshing waterfall sounds and Yellowstone has a steaming hot pool and subtle bubble noises.

All destinations have audio tracks of calming sounds that fit the scenery. We did notice a few glitches in the audio, but overall sound was smooth and relaxing. To change destinations all you have to do is shake the device to return to the menu screen.

Paradise is a pretty simple program. Relaxing audio tracks and white noise type devices have been around for a while now, but this app takes advantage of the highly capable iPhone screen to add gorgeous video to the soothing audio. We would like to see more destinations in the future versions, since five can be exhausted pretty quickly no matter how beautiful the scenery.
