App Aims: Relieving Work-Related Muscle Stress
Reviewer’s Comments
iPump Office Stretch includes two total body stretch sessions and four specific body part stretch sessions, in a section called Body Zones. The program even includes helpful videos showing certain exercises in more detail so you are sure your performing it properly, which we found quite useful, however the video portion requires Edge, 3G or WiFi connectivity.
One feature we liked is that you can play your own music while using the program. It also keeps track of your sessions. Another interesting feature is the app’s “inspire” feature which emails session logs and re-caps. This is designed to motivate yourself or others to work out although we don’t really see the practicality of this in a stretching app, but it would be useful with more intensive workouts.
We thought this app was pretty useful and could really help work out the kinks you may experience while working. However, a few of the exercise descriptions did not seem to match the images entirely and some of the stretches may be difficult to accomplish in offices where adequate floor space is not available.
This iPump app is a good tool to help you be more aware of how stiff your muscles can become while working and may help you to remember to stretch them. It can also help you to increase blood flow to key areas of your body and may help you feel more energized. We would recommend that you try this app and perhaps look into some of the other iPump apps.
