App Aims: Eco-Friendly for the Eco-Conscious
Reviewer’s Comments: Keep up on all the latest green news (or should we say “newz”) right on your iPhone or iPod Touch. We like this app because developer ourLivez has made it simple and easy to use. Rather than having to configure several different RSS feeds and figure out what you want where, you can just select the different category of green news you’re interested in and start reading right from there. The best part, however, was that you could still access the information even when you were offline. With an iPod Touch, I don’t always have internet access and nothing is more frustrating than wanting to use an app and not having access to it. So the fact that it can be accessed offline was a huge plus and it made me happy to be able to use it on the bus and other WiFi dead zones.
Another feature we liked was that you could bookmark different articles if you want to share them with a friend or come back and read them again later. When you bookmark it, it highlights the title in yellow, so you can just quickly skim through the list to find the title again. There is also the option to send it to friends via email, share it on Twitter or Del.icio.us. This is a good app with a wide selection of reading material from various eco-friendly news sources you’ve definitely heard of if you’re into green – like Planet Green, TreeHugger and The Daily Green – as well as access to other blogs and news sources. It makes it easy to keep up on the latest green news.
