This Texas Hold’em app by Apple, Inc has a gorgeous interface with real-looking players and is tons of fun to play. In this game all players start out in a tournament in a garage amidst bikes, old computers, a pool table and beer on tap. From there, if you keep winning you, can end up in Dubai, the new “city of dreams,” at a $100,000 buy-in table with a chance to win 1.25 million dollars.

Of the nearly 2000 reviews of this game posted on iTunes, some complain that the players do not play “realistically” so you can not read them as well as you might be able to in a real tournament. However, it really is impossible to re-create real human behavior and variety in 129 MB. For the size of the game, Apple does an incredible job at providing diversity in game play and players. And the game is less than five bucks, so it is a great value for the price and fun for beginners or those who want to keep their betting skills sharp between real tournaments. 

If you want “real” player type action, play with your friends. This game can support up to 9 players with iPhones or iPod touches via WiFi, so you get real tournament-type fun without losing any “real” money.

For only a five dollar “buy-in” this gambling game can provide hours of Texas Hold’em enjoyment and stimulation. Apple did a great job with the graphics, it runs stable and it comes with full Apple support. We also liked the exotic locales and realistic facial expressions on our opponent’s faces. The fast play section really got us excited, and the opponents’ graphics helped simulate a real table feeling. After a few hands of fast play, we were “all-in.”
