App Aims: Loving Lava Lamp Lounge Atmosphere

Ever sat, staring mesmerized at the floating, contorting blobs in a lava lamp? iLuv Bubbles app by artixels has taken the lava lamp idea and put it inside of an iPhone or iPod touch. Using the iPhone’s touch screen and multi touch capabilities you manipulate the bubbles on the screen. They start out as serene, round blue bubbles but hold a finger or two (up to five) against the screen and watch as the bubbles change color to red. The longer you hold your fingers against the screen, the “stickier” they become causing them to collect around your fingers. They also start to change to every color of the rainbow when the temperature has reached its peak. Some round bubbles even change to heart-shaped. Double tap the screen and the “heat” will remain constant so the bubbles don’t return to their original blue color. Another double tap produces a digital clock. A final double tap returns you to the beginning with blue bubbles. Play some music through the iPod and then start up the bubbles and clock and you’ve created a loving, tranquil atmosphere at your desk.
