BubbleWrap displays an image of a sheet of plastic wrap with 39 bubbles and you try to pop as many as you can in 45 seconds. When you tap the bubbles they pop and deflate. Some bubbles have a 5X inside for extra bonus points. The only catch: the bubbles that you’ve popped re-inflate again so you have to pop them again and again. The more bubbles you pop, the higher your score. It’s fun for kids and adults but it gets old pretty fast. It also features a high score tracker so you can push yourself to the limit.

There are some good sound effects when the bubbles pop and refill with air. In the last five seconds the clock starts to tick and then when the game ends it makes a horn sound.

The app is easy to use and the buttons are responsive. There’s no instructions given on how to play but it’s pretty simple to figure out what you’re supposed to do. This app could still be better with faster responses and an instruction page.

This may not be the most stimulating game out there, but for a few minutes of fun it’s an interesting App Store-offering. There is a pro version available that allows you to submit high scores for a weekly competition, but to fill the occasional need to pop a bunch of plastic wrap bubbles, this free version is a good substitute for the real thing.
