App Aims: Microsoft Office On The Go, Anytime, Anywhere
Finally an app for the iPhone and iPod touch that allows you to create, edit and open Microsoft Word 2007 and Excel 2007 files and even email them as attachments directly from your iPhone. Quickoffice Mobile Office Suite truly allows you to take your work with you wherever you go. The app enables you to transfer files to and from your iPhone via WiFi and mount it as a drive on your computer as long as both devices are on the same local network.
The Quickoffice app allows you to work with the look and design of a document just like the Microsoft Office counterpart. There’s even a “Find” feature included in both the Word docs and Excel spreadsheets. The interface is easy and intuitive but a help screen is easily available if you need a little assistance.
Some features include:
- Adjust text formatting
- Change the font style, size and color
- Switch background colors
- Highlight text
- Add bullets
- Insert and delete columns and rows
Editing and creating spreadsheets work the same way. With its advanced Spreadsheet Calculation Engine, this allows you to save spreadsheets in its native Microsoft format so there is no content or format loss.
Quickoffice is a very useful and productive app. Not long ago, while out and about running a few errands, we received a phone call from a colleague who needed a copy of a Word document immediately. After hanging up, we promptly launched Quickoffice and emailed an updated version to him right away rather than wasting precious time waiting until we had access to our laptop.
Although nothing beats having a full size keyboard, mouse and monitor to work on your docs, Quickoffice Mobile Office Suite is just the right answer to making any minor tweaks while on a plane, bus or train. Storing them as a backup on your iPhone or iPod touch just in case the unthinkable happens is also a smart way to go.
