There’s an app for everything on the iPhone, and that includes a lot of business related apps that can help you be productive even when you’re away from the office. We’ve found and ranked some of the most useful business apps for the iPhone and iPod Touch so you don’t have to look for them yourself. Check out the iPhone Business App Review site to see what’s worth your time.

We considered a wide range of factors when ranking and rating these apps. We looked at the features (do they take advantage of iPhone features and capabilities?), interface (is the app easy to use? is the interface intuitive?), graphics (are the contents and icons easily distinguishable?), stability (does it make your iPhone crash or slow down considerably?) and program size (we don’t want enormous programs taking up valuable storage space).

Currently, Quickoffice Mobile Office Suite is the highest ranked app in the business category. This app enables you to create, edit and open Microsoft Word 2007 and Excel 2007 files, which is essential for mobile business. You can also email these files as attachments directly from your iPhone. With Quickoffice Mobile Office Suite you can adjust formatting, change font styles and color, add bullets, highlight text, insert or delete columns and perform a myriad of other common and essential tasks, all from your iPhone. Coming in at second place is Documents To Go with Exchange Attachments. This app comes close to the same functionality that you see in Quickoffice. With Documents To Go you can view and edit Microsoft Word 2007 documents. You can also view Excel, PowerPoint, PDF and iWork files, but you can’t edit them. The premium version of Documents To Go also allows you to send and receive attachments via Microsoft Exchange. Read the full review.

Mariner Calc came in third among business apps. This relatively simple app by Mariner Software makes it possible to create and edit spreadsheets on your iPhone, although the program isn’t affiliated with Microsoft Excel. If you really need Excel compatibility, you may want to choose a different app, but otherwise Mariner Calc is a very useful tool for managing data on the go. Read the full review.
