For the most part, Mariner Calc is very user-friendly and has many different features. Edit spreadsheets that were created on your computer by transferring them to your iPhone via WiFi or make your own spreadsheets right on your iPhone with many of the same features as Microsoft Office's Excel.

Excel-style Features:

• Open, edit, and save Excel files (.xls)
• Split and Freeze panes
• Cut, Copy, Paste, Undo and Redo
• Set Font, Size, Style, Alignment, Color and Border
• Multiple worksheet support

One of the few drawbacks we found was how the impressive 145 functions are used. If you’re not accustomed to Excel or have never used cell functions, you may be lost because there is no easily accessible explanation on how the functions are applied. Another problem we ran into is there is no way of saving your work unless you close the app and restart it. If the program crashes in the middle of your session, all the unsaved work is lost. That being said, the app is very similar to the Excel program that is on your desktop or laptop computer. You will be able to make different files, save, name, and even add the author of each. One of the best features about this app is that you can take an existing Excel file from home or work and transfer them directly to your iPhone and continue working on the move.

The stability of Mariner Calc was very impressive. We were able to upload a large Excel file from our computer onto the iPhone and manipulate it; the app didn’t crash or even seem to slow down due to the large file size. We also wanted to see what would happen if we made multiple documents. Could we use up the memory for this app? After about 15 documents we decided it wasn’t going to affect the app. So if you have any need to manipulate, create or even just view spreadsheets on your iPhone, Mariner Calc is the app to get.
