Setting up an iMerchant Pro account is the first thing you'll want to do after you download the app. We received quick responses to email inquiries, and representatives gave detailed answers to any specific questions we had. There is also phone support, fax, live chat and a help desk for any questions you may have. Card authorizations normally take less than 5 seconds, so charging cards on the fly has never been more convenient. If you don't have an account with Transact, Inc. or Authorize.net you will have to make one, because those are the only two processors the app allows you to use.

Right from your iPhone you can see your transaction history, view sales charts, file and search customer accounts, refund customers and void transactions. Typing in customer account information can be painstaking, but if you don't care to create an account for every customer you can just enter a card number and an expiration date and watch the cash pile up. The monthly charge for the app is handled on a case-by-case basis. You won’t incur gateway transaction fees for the first 500 transactions, but you should talk to a representative for costs beyond that point.

One feature we found really nifty is that you can enable a Signature option, which will allow customers to sign the phone to further secure and authenticate transactions. By the way, it's kind of fun to sign your name with your finger. You might get return customers just because they want to play with the signature feature!
